Electric Mountain Biking

Imagine mountain biking where going uphill is just as fun as going down! E-bikes are designed for everyone, not just competent riders!

E Bikes are Taking Over the World of MTB!

They allow you to ride up the steepest hills with the minimum of effort and discover otherwise impossible-to-reach trails and ride the Alps without the need for a lift pass! E-Bikes allow you to cover vast areas of terrain as the electric motor assists your pedalling. Ride them like a normal bike (only faster!), chuck them around Downhill trails, cruise along high altitude pathways or potter along tarmac roads. They feel almost like a little motor bike and require no special skills to use.

What's it All About?

An Electric bike has a pedal-assist motor meaning that the motor will boost every pedal stroke you make and allow you to cover many more miles of terrain. Riding up a relatively steep incline means you'd only need to put in the same amount of energy as if you were riding along a very gradual incline, which sounds like a pretty fine idea!

Electric bikes are certainly here to stay. They allow us to access mountain trails where motor bikes and 4x4 are banned off-road above 1000m. Electric bikes have been likened to motorcross bikes as they allow you to charge up a steep rutted track...but they're far safer and anyone can use them with basic bike riding skills.

The battery has three modes from Eco to Boost and the battery will last approx 3 hours before you need to plug it into a mountain restaurant (just like your i-phone) whilst having lunch. There's even ten (free) charge points across the Portes du Soleil if you dont want to have lunch!
