Self-Drive Holidays

Driving to the Alps is not as far as you might think and it’s a great way to experience France and see some spectacular sights on route; whilst bringing as much luggage as you like. You can also save some money (up to £250pp on the cost of flights) and still get our same great package with FREE activities when you arrive in resort.

Greater flexibility and super savings

You can save up to £250 per person from our normal holiday prices (that’s quite a lot for a family of 4) and still receive the same great package of accommodation, catering and inclusive activities.

We don’t think that you really need a car in resort, but having one gives you greater flexibility to explore the area; to take what luggage you like and to arrive and depart on your own timetable. You can even benefit from an extra day or so in resort by coming and going at your own pace.

Driving to the Alps

Driving through France is a comfortable journey with lots of interesting things to see and do on the way. It’s not a difficult drive (about 8 hours on the French side) and made all the more easy on young travelers if you stopover at any number of sights and touristy spots along the way.

Continental motorways are fast and generally traffic-free, fuel is well priced and they have plenty of service stations and rest areas with play parks for kids to blow off some steam. The tolls are about €60 each way, but if you are not in a rush then take the N-roads - this way you can avoid the tolls and see more stunning countryside to boot!

Once in resort, all our properties have ample parking onsite or close by.

Over 80 Activities To Try

There’s so much on offer that sometimes it’s hard to choose what to do. All our holidays come with a Free Active Pack for each person staying in our chalets and hotels. They contain more than enough free activities and bike hire for your week (or two) away.

They’re worth up to £355pp...so they’re really worth having. If you reckon you can cram even more in, then additional activities can be booked in resort with our Active Reps.

Our Active Reps & Leaders

There’s no time to lose if you want to experience as much as possible. Our Active Reps are worth their weight in gold and will be on hand the moment you arrive to help you plan your week and make the most out of your stay.

They’ll help you take part in your activities and organise any transport or special requests so your week runs smoothly. They can also book any additional activities you might like to do such as parapenting... horse riding... canyoning… via ferrata...guided bike rides...to name but a few!

Tignes & Val D’Isere

All our resorts are easy to drive to from the UK. For Tignes and Val D’Isere it takes 9 hours from Calais.

All our resorts are great for families and have a wide choice of free activities. Tignes and Val d’Isere have the most diverse range with summer skiing on its glacier and lots of watersports and somewhat crazy activities around its spectacular lake with a very good sunshine record. These resorts also come with a free lift pass!

Morzine & Les Gets

For Morzine, Les Gets, expect an 8 hour drive time from Calais.

Morzine and Les Gets have as many as 80 different activities appealing to all tastes. They are family oriented resorts with world class biking (for all levels) and they attract an eclectic mix of thrill seekers and families as the activities are so wide-ranging.

Chamonix

For Chamonix expect an 8 hour drive time from Calais.

Chamonix is a very rounded resort - a thriving city in the Alps - with a lot more sightseeing and cultural activities like the Mer de Glace or the Aguille Midi. It is still a great destination for families with plenty to do in its mountains and lakes, with biking, horse riding, adventure parks, climbing and walking (to name but a few) that will appeal to all ages and tastes.
