Best glacier skiing in Europe!
One of the largest ski areas in Europe and linked to neighbouring Val d’Isère, Tignes has earned itself “Super Resort” status. Famous for its high altitude skiing and a snow record most other resorts can only dream of, Tignes coolly and comfortably rivals the world’s best ski and board destinations for downhill and off piste activity.
The super fast ski lift system covers over 300km of immaculately maintained pistes and the ski slopes extend to the highest and finest glacier pistes of the glorious Grand Motte.
Many of our chalets are in Tignes Les Brévierès, the oldest and prettiest part of Tignes which is also a great social hub. There’s a choice of cool après ski venues with bars and cafés for all ages and energies and plenty of places to drink, dine, dance or do whatever you feel.
Beginner Skiing Tignes
Tignes is very good for a beginner skiing holiday. Beginners are able to progress very quickly from the highly accessible nursery slopes in Tignes centre to a gentle network of well kept green runs which make up the local area. The nurseries are also operated by a slow chairlift which allows beginners to improve with confidence in the early stages and away from their ski or snow board schools. The atmosphere for beginners is also very easy going.
Tignes night life
Many of our chalets are in Tignes Les Brévierès, the Old Town of Tignes. Expect a few lively bars, cafés and restaurants in a part of the resort that further benefits from it's pretty and quaint chalet-style architecture. Brev enjoys a characteristic friendly atmosphere that is further enhanced by the fact it is always covered in so much snow!
In Tignes le Lac where our chalet hotels and hotels are based there is more going on for the apres skier and resort shopaholic! The nightlife buzzes with a few late night bars and pubs and the restaurants are more diverse. There is also a small nightclub for those wanting a more hedonistic style of apres ski!
