We’ll help you get wet with a free session of Whitewater rafting with all our holidays. Nothing breaks the ice with your fellow hotel guests like heading down a river at high speed on an inflatable raft, right?
Rafting is a half-day excursion and the actual session lasts for about 2½ hours. It’s great for all ages (10+) and offers a thrilling day out, run by a very professional, local rafting centre. They will brief you on kit use and safety before you go off to the rapids with your instructor and guide.
You will start off after a safety briefing and an introduction to the use of paddles and correct rafting techniques. You will join a big raft for eight to ten people with an instructor and guide onboard, to help drive you down the rapids. All rafters are armed with a paddle, so it’s very much a participation sport, and very satisfying too.
Every so often the raft will stop for a break in a calm patch of water where passengers can get out and go for a swim or jump of rocks into deep pools if conditions allow.
Rafting is a lot of fun for groups and families. One thing’s for sure - not much else gets you bonding with other guests than hurtling down some river rapids in a rubber boat.
Each raft takes eight to ten people and your instructor (at the stern) will help steer you down the rapids and keep things nice and safe. Everyone is armed with a paddle, so there’s plenty of teamwork as you ride down the river.
Everyone gets a free session of rafting and the under 8-year olds will have an alternative activity. If parents wish to raft without their kids then we can sometimes arrange an extended Kids Club or nanny care.
Our Holidays come with more free-and-inclusive activities than you can shake a kayak paddle at! What’s more – we’ve picked the best ones and packaged them up in our Active Pack - which is a free package of activities (worth up to £355) offered to all guests staying in our chalets and hotels.
If you have any energy left, you can try additional activities in resort and our Active reps will help you organise them for a small additional cost. The most popular add-on activities are Canyoning, Via Ferrata, Horse Riding and Parapenting.
