Each of our resorts offers excellent Via Ferrata routes. You will move around rock faces and high mountain passes with an instructor and guide close by. What are Via Ferrata?

Via Ferrata are protected climbing routes with fixed climbing aids (ladders, rungs, wire ropes) which mostly consist of rope-assisted walks and easy to moderate climbs which do not require any special climbing skills, thus giving everyone an opportunity to move through spectacularly exposed alpine scenery with the minimum of equipment. Via Ferrata are suitable for all ages and abilities from 12 years and up.

The low down

Run by a specialist climbing school, your instructor and guide will transport you the short distance to the location or start point. It’s is a great half-day excursion and offers a unique way of seeing the mountains. We like to run the activity with other Alpine Elements guests which make for sociable groups of 8 to 12 people.

Via Ferrata are very enjoyable and a popular activity. Think of them as mountain rambles, walks and climbs which do not require any special climbing skills - giving everyone an opportunity to move through spectacular, exposed alpine scenery with minimal equipment and stunning scenery. They’re very sociable and guaranteed to raise the level of chat in our hotel bars afterwards.
