One thing’s for sure: whatever your level, whatever your taste, downhill, cross country or family cruising - we’ve got it covered!
Guest Review: ‘A Day Mountain Biking in Tignes
Guest Review: ‘My favourite day in Morzine last summer
Biking in the French Alps is a fantastic adventure for all ages and abilities with hundreds of miles of cross country tracks and trails all served by a lift system that’ll whisk you to the top in no time. All of our resorts have easy-cruising trails and valley floor rides or family routes to help you get started. Then, as you progress - you can move on to the more technical trails at an altitude that grade from green to black.
Why not rent a full suspension bike during your week? If you’re a confident trail rider, then a ‘full-suss’ bike will allow you to explore the higher terrain using the lift system.
We offer free bike hire with all our holidays, so you can grab a bike from our racks and go for an adventure. There’s plenty of bikes to go around and we have all frame sizes and kids bikes too. In our chalets, you get a bit of an upgrade: your own bike (fitted to you) to use all week.
We have a fleet of bikes from leading brand Specialized. These versatile mountain bikes will soak up the valley floor trails and the gentler Green runs. With light-weight aluminium frames, front suspension and performance-driven parts, our bikes are well set up and maintained by our own team of mechanics. We also offer a small selection of road bikes from our main hotels.
Why not try a full suspension bike? It’ll help you soak up the terrain and really get the most out of the trails. Our Active reps can help you rent one in resort, but pre-booking is always recommended.
Families are in for a real treat! Explore an array of alpine tracks and trails that lead through forests, alongside rivers and up at altitude…family trails that use the lifts and take in the beautiful scenery along the way.
The local biking routes offer a spectacular day out, with lake-side stopovers for lunch and paddle sports or sunbathing to break up the day. Families with minimal off-road riding experience can use some of the local lifts to explore the easier ’family bike routes’ at altitude. You can also try using a mountain guide, (which our reps can organise), who can show you where to go and give you tips and knowledge along the way. We have a selection of bikes for all ages, 4 and up.
The French Alps have the best biking recipe, bar none: extraordinary terrain, extensive lift systems, together with serious investment in high-quality bike tracks, trails and parks - all wrapped up in the most amazing scenery!
Our hand-picked resorts attract all abilities of rider; each destination offering an unforgettable biking experience using ski lifts specially adapted for bikes, thus allowing you to cover many miles of terrain with consummate ease, whatever your fitness.
Grab your lift pass and head for the hills! Try from an exciting array of specially made Freeride and Downhill courses just waiting to be ridden. There’s lots of variety for all levels, from easy routes for beginner downhillers to moderate trails and steeper courses like the famous Avalanche Cup.
The adrenaline surges as you swoop round banked corners and over whoops and humps following the flow of the bike trail down the mountain. Then get the lift back up and do it all over again! Experts can try more challenging Red or Black trails and you can follow the signposts and pick the trail that suits your ability.
