We offer free bikes with all our summer alpine holidays, so just grab one from our racks and enjoy a two-wheeled adventure, even with a baby trailer if you like! There’s plenty of bikes to go around, but you can also reserve one for a small supplement if you prefer to hold onto your own.
The Specialized Pitch is a versatile bike that’ll soak up the valley floor trails and the gentler Green runs and be equally at home on a family bike ride pottering around the lake or along the river.
With a light-weight aluminium frame, front suspension and performance-driven parts, these bikes are the perfect steed for an alpine adventure and their quality of construction will give you the confidence to ride gentle off-road trails and mountain paths.
We do not recommend using this bike for many of the lift-assisted trails. It is only suitable for a limited selection of the easier Green trails. We do recommend renting a full suspension bike if high altitude, lift assisted trail riding is important to you.
Bikes are available from our main hotels and chalets, so you can grab one from our racks whenever you choose. There are plenty of bikes to go around and if you have to wait, then it’ll only be for a short time. Our reps will ensure you get more than enough use of a bike during your week.
We may have to limit your amount of use to 3 days (20-24 hrs) in any one week; or half a day at any one time in busy periods. But in our experience, everyone will get more than enough bike-use for their week away.
If you would like to reserve your own bike to use all week, (with your own settings unchanged), then you can pay a supplement to ‘reserve a bike’ for 6 days’.
At our hotels, bikes are racked for guests to use at their leisure. We don’t often experience issues with bike availability and normally there are plenty to go around. However, hotel guests may reserve a bike to use all week, (with their settings unchanged), for a supplement of £79.
This is not necessary for chalet guests, as you get your own bike to use all week, anyway. It is advisable to book a reserved bike before you travel, (for availability), but regrettably, we cannot make refunds if you decide not to make use of your reserved bike on arrival.
In each of our main hotels we have a fully kitted bike-workshop and trained bike mechanics to keep your wheels rolling. If you notice a fault, then take the bike straight back to them. Don’t worry, you won’t be charged for accidental damage or wear n’ tear if you use the bikes in accordance with our allowable use guidelines.
