Tignes is the ‘sporty resort’ of the Alps and has so many activities to choose from. In fact there’s so much to do - the hardest part is often choosing what to do next!

As a Tourist Office designated accommodation each person in your group will get a ‘My Tignes’ multipass for a range of inclusive activities for all ages - from kayaking and paddleboarding to golf and tennis - and a 6 day walking and biking lift pass, which is a real bonus as the trails are fantastic and cover the neighbouring resort of Val d’Isère.

Our Activity Reps* are on hand to hook you up with all the fun and adventure you can handle: We’ll help you get oriented around the resort, so you can find all the best trails and activities. We can organise more premium activities like Whitewater rafting, Canyoning, Via Ferrata or horse riding. And of course there’s summer skiing and boarding on the glacier, which is the best in Europe! *For Tignes, our reps are ‘Virtual Activity Reps’. They are a dedicated team who are available for you to call them for help in booking activities or organising excursions and any other general assistance your chalet host is unable to deal with. They are available 9-5 weekdays and on your arrival day.

About the Chalet

Chalet Josephine is part of an exclusive development of chalets in the original 'old town' of Tignes, Les Brévierès, which is by far the prettiest part of Tignes. It enjoys direct access to the best activities that this beautiful region - the Vanoise National Park - has to offer.

The chalet has been finished to an excellent standard, with a hot tub on the sun deck and panoramic sunny alpine views that extend over the lake, and up into the mountains. There are five bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, lovely mountain views and Internet TV with Wi-Fi throughout.

About Tignes

Tignes Les-Brévierès is perfect if you’re the kind of family who appreciates a more tranquil setting and jaw-droppingly beautiful vistas’ with all the action of Tignes ready and waiting for when you want it. Tignes 1800m is 5 mins drive away and Tignes le Lac (2100m) is another 5 to 10 mins away.

The main part of Tignes is set around a beautiful lake which hosts a whole heap of mountain and water based fun for all ages. We also include a free biking lift and walking pass with our free multipass! Tignes is famous for the weird and wonderful (if slightly wacky) activities like the Giant Slide, Water balls and the Crazy Airbag. But we really love Tignes for its sheer variety: the best summer skiing and boarding in Europe (until early August); the resorts’ hot and sunny climate (300 days sunshine a year); and its great golf courses, via ferrata and horse riding.

One thing’s for sure - you’ll never be bored in Tignes!

Why Choose Chalet Josephine?

For the mountain biking

The Alps are famous for their biking and whether you’re a complete newcomer or a family looking for a (very) fun day out - you’re going to want to give it a go!

The trails start close by our chalets and the lifts (for bikes) are just 5 mins away, so you can use your free lift pass to access a vast network of graded trails for all abilities which extend over to Val d’Isère. We’d recommend bringing your own bikes or renting one in town, which our Active Reps can help you to do.

For Tignes' lake

You have two lakes to choose from: the local scenic lake at Brevieres or the main lake in central Tignes for watersports. Both are beautiful lakes and the Tignes lake is about a 10 min drive / free bus ride or you can cycle there using the free lifts. It's a great spot for kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, sailing, pedalo and all manner of weird and wonderful lake activities like the famous Acroland or Waterballs.

More on lake activities

For its variety

Tignes is known as the ‘sporting resort’ of the Alps. It has the greatest variety of activities of all the alpine resorts and specialises in lots of slightly off-beat or crazy activities: from giant slides (into the lake) to long zip wires and hot jumps.

Walking & glacier hikes

The Alps are famous for walking and your My Tignes Multipass comes with a free lift pass (for bikers and walkers) which covers the entire region, including Val D’Isere. We include route suggestions and trail maps at all our chalets and our Active Reps can organise adventurous glacier hikes (with crampons) led by a professional guide. Or you can just hike up to the snowline (or take the funicular railway) to get to the snow and ramble around yourself and perhaps take lunch at the popular Panoramic restaurant, with views of the Alps laid out at your feet.

For the summer skiing & boarding

WIth the best summer glacier in Europe, Tignes attracts skiers, boarders and race teams from all over Europe between June and August. You'll have up to 30 kms of piste for all abilities served by ten or so lifts. There’s always a good snow park with jumps and a half pipe and you can always find lessons, whether your goal is to learn-to-ski or develop your skiing or boarding skills. Lift passes, lessons and equipment hire can be arranged on arrival with our Active Reps.

Tignes is a summer resort that was made for children to enjoy! There’s so much to do from horse and pony rides to Acroland and tennis to archery. There’s kids adventure playgrounds with treetop fun for the older kids and lots of inflatable play parks for the young ones.

You can expect child friendly biking (and bike obstacle courses) at resort level and a plethora of excellent mountain walks and days out. The family will love to ride up the gondolas, try electric biking, swimming and climbing or chilling at the Aqua Sportif centre to name but a few free and inclusive activities.
