The second stays below Montriond, in a wide field, then the route crosses the river and returns. From the top, it is possible to see the amazing terrain that Mont Chéry has on offer. Along with the Grande Motte, the l’Aiguille Percée is Tignes most well-known landmark. As you walk along the ridge after the Croix de Palafour you pass barriers that are there not to hold back avalanches but to break down the wind that can cause slab avalanches. From the top of the Palafour lift the route levels off and the l’Aiguille Percée goal is visible. The return offers superb view points over the nature reserve.

Especially good for families who have young children as it is a gentle circuit which has numerous stopping off points at various hamlets which are dotted around Val d'Isère. As the Seven Churches title would suggest, this itinerary offers cultural diversions as well as amazing natural beauty, giving plenty to divert young minds from the thought of 'just going for a walk'!

Skiers will know the Piste Perdue run down into La Daille, and in the summer this gorge running up La Vallée Perdue is one of the prettiest hikes in the area. It may appear daunting however the route is a relatively gentle upwards incline to the bottom of the Tommeuses, crisscrossing streams (via bridges!) as you go. At the top you have the option to continue on to Tignes, via a 45min descent using the Lavachet Wall) right to Tignes Le Lac, or a Red Route down the Triffolet to where you started in La Daille.
